Since it's Harry Potter's birthday...

I've written a short fluffy (& crappy) little ficlet.

It was very late in the evening as Harry sat at his desk finishing off a bit of paper work before he turned in for the night. He figured it would be better to get all of that out of the way before the weekend really started, especially since his birthday was the next day. Harry was so engrossed in his paper work that he hadn't heard Hermione enter the room

"Hey Hermione, what are you doing up so late?" He asked her noticing the cupcake in her hand.

"According to my watch, it's after midnight. It's officially your birthday and I wanted to be the first to wish you a happy 26th birthday, Mr. Potter." Hermione stated as she used her wand to light the candle on the cupcake.

Harry stood to face Hermione properly and smiled as he said "Thanks, Hermione. You really didn't have to do this for me."

"I know" She replied with a smile of her own. "Now, make a wish and blow out the candle."

Harry feigned thinking hard as he already knew what he wanted to wish for. He then bent slightly towards the cupcake and blew the candle out.

Hermione placed the cupcake next to Harry's paperwork and grinned at him. "Now, what exactly did you wish for? Hmmm... For Voldemort to be dead? Nah, he's dead already. To become an ace auror? Nah, you are already. I wonder what it could be." Hermione pondered.

Harry laughed and said "Now Ms. Granger, you know I can't tell you what I wished for, then my wish wouldn't come true. I could... show you, I suppose."

Hermione looked puzzled and started to ask "Show? Ho...", but was silenced when Harry closed the distance between the two of them and gently kissed her.

Moments later as the two parted, Hermione looked at Harry with a gleam in her eye. "Oh, so that's how you'd show me." She said before grabbing the back on Harry's neck and passionately kissing him.

As soon as that kiss ended, Harry leaned his forehead against Hermione's and whispered "Wow, Birthday wishes really do come true."

Yeah, it sucks. LOL, That's why I don't do this for a living. :p
